Clovelly Lobster and Crab Feast 2019

There is truly only one way to experience the cobbled, cliff tumbling, car-free village of Clovelly in North Devon. A visit here is like stepping back into the past, where donkey carts and fishing thrive - as celebrated in their Lobster and Crab Feast every year.

For those who have not visited the private village before, this event is a great excuse to see the old cobbled streets for the first time. It's a one-day extravaganza, embracing the lobster and crab fishing culture the village still thrives off in the tiny harbour.

Upon entry, guests can spend the day exploring the streets, learning about its fishing history and seeing the stunning views. On top of this and included in the entry price is the live music, the cookery demonstrations with tastings, a prize draw for a magnum of champagne, local food and craft stalls, beer tasting, and of course plenty of freshly cooked lobsters and crabs to indulge on.

A great day out for all the family, this is a chance for little ones to try shellfish for the first time. There will be a variety of crab and lobster dishes cooked directly on the quay. Or perhaps book a table at the famous Red Lion Harbour Restaurant to enjoy the delicious lobster dishes. Children will be kept entertained by street theatre, balloon modelling, event-themed games and craft activities.

Also, the National Lobster Hatchery, Padstow, will be exhibiting baby lobsters before releasing them into the sea at the beginning and end of the day.

It promises to be a great day out in a wonderful location - a must visit when in North Devon.
