The best autumn walks across North Devon
As the days get shorter and the temperature begins to drop, witness the countryside transform into a spectacular display of vibrant arrays of colour with the arrival of autumn. North Devon is full of picturesque trails, fantastic for autumn days and evening strolls. Devon is the perfect place for an autumn escape.

Valley of the Rocks, Lynton
An easy stroll from Lynton or a longer walk from Lynmouth along the rugged coastal path. This is the perfect place to feel relaxed and refreshed. There are plenty of benches along the way, to rest your legs and enjoy the views. Breathe in the crisp autumn air and enjoy some spectacular scenery.
Bucks Mills, Bideford
Follow the path down to the beach, where you can sit and admire the waterfalls. Watch the water splash against the rocks and trickle into the sea. This is the ideal place to while away the hours and explore some woodland walks, with glimpses of stunning sea views through the trees.
Baggy Point, Croyde
Walk along the coastal footpath and listen to the sea crashing on the rocks. The beach may be cold, but it's typically quiet this time of year, where the beautiful view can be absorbed in peace. Take in astounding views of the coastline towards Bideford Bay and Hartland. This wonderful landscape is perfect for an autumn walk.
Enjoy stunning surroundings, whilst walking the riverbanks of Watersmeet. Take a stroll around the 2,000 acres, and enjoy the wildlife and nature on your woodland walk. This walk is at its best in the autumn, with the trees turning from luscious green to vibrant shades of orange. A very tranquil and peaceful place, where you can wander the trails and enjoy the sound of the river
Arlington Court, Barnstaple

Lee Bay, Ilfracombe
Lee Bay is quite the hidden gem, situated on the rugged coastline between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. It remains a tranquil spot with its many rock pools and a small sandy beach. Even in the cooler months, Lee is perfect for an autumnal walk with the sound of crunching leaves beneath your feet, make sure you pack your wellies!
