We are thrilled to announce that we, Christina Sixton-Brend and Noah Sixton-Brend, have officially taken over the reins of The Royal Hotel, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this new journey with you. As a young couple with a combined 20 years of experience in this industry, it is a dream come true for us, and we are eager to carry forward the legacy of the hotel while putting our own personal touch on it.
For us, this isn’t just about running a hotel it’s about creating a space where families, couples, friends, and individuals can come together, relax, and create beautiful memories. The Royal Hotel has been a cherished part of the community for many years, and now, we’re honoured to be the next chapter in its story.
A Family Tradition
Many of you already know and love the hotel, as it’s been in our family for years. We both grew up around hotels and restaurants from a young age, learning the ropes and witnessing firsthand the incredible relationships that are built between the hotel and its guests. We’ve always been inspired by the sense of community here, and we feel incredibly lucky to be able to continue that tradition.
We are also thrilled to share that the amazing team who has made hotel such a special place will continue to be part of our family. We feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such dedicated and passionate individuals who have been with us for years. Their commitment to providing exceptional service will remain at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that each guest continues to have the warm, welcoming experience they know and love.
While to some we may be new faces however we are deeply committed to preserving the welcoming, family oriented atmosphere that makes The Royal so special. Our goal is to enhance the experience for everyone who walks through our doors, whether you’re here for a relaxing getaway, a special occasion, or coming in for a bite to eat.

Fresh New Rooms & Refined Decor: We’ve been working hard to give our rooms a fresh and cozy update that blends modern comfort with the charm and character of the hotel, while some have been started on we will continue to carry on making the rest of the rooms fresh, comfortable and welcoming.
New Guest Experiences: We’re adding more unique packages and tours to showcase the beauty of North Devon, whether you’re here for a quiet retreat or an adventure filled trip. Keep an eye out for new experiences that cater to all ages and interests.
Community Focused Events: As a family run hotel, we’re excited to host events that bring the community together. From cosy afternoon teas to seasonal festivities, we want The Royal to be a space where everyone feels at home.
Eco-Friendly Changes: We believe in the importance of sustainability, so we’re making eco-conscious changes in every aspect of the hotel. From sourcing local produce to reducing waste, we’re doing our part to ensure a greener future.
